IECAM Data Guides Birth to Five Illinois Early Childhood Regional Needs Assessments

Each of the Illinois' 39 Birth to Five regions has created an Early Childhood Regional Needs Assessment by reviewing available data from the Illinois Early Childhood Asset Map (IECAM) and other state and federal sources

Birth to Five Illinois has published 39 early childhood regional needs assessments guided by available data from the Illinois Early Childhood Asset Map (IECAM) and other state and federal sources, and listening to local communities about their experiences with accessing ECEC services.

The assessments reflect the strengths and needs in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) service landscape at the regional level. The publication of these reports marks a major milestone for Birth to Five Illinois, the state’s equity-driven regional community system focused on understanding why families are not able to access ECEC programs and services.
